Terms and Definitions (Power System)

Active Power: The time average of instantaneous power over one period of the wave, expressed in watts.
Anti-islanding: Designed to detect and disconnect from a stable unintended 'island' with matched load and generation.
Apparent Power: The product of the root-mean current and the root-mean-square voltage, expressed in volt amperes
(VA).
