Study and design of Drinking water hydropower


The project titled“STUDY AND DESIGN OF DRINKING WATER HYDRO POWER FOR RURAL ELECTRIFICATION “is a new innovative alternative source of energy.There is not possibility of electrification from larger grid to rural area. The primary objective of this project is to provide cheaper electricity as well as helping in sanitation and irritation.  The use of Self Excited Induction Generator (SEIG) in micro hydro and Pico hydro is gaining immense popularity in context of rural electrification.  The use of three phase induction motor as generator with excitation capacitors for supplying a single phase load is basic module used in these plants. These externally connected capacitors provide reactive or magnetizing power to the induction motor so as to generate active power which can be fed tom the grid. The capacitor configuration most popularly used is C-2C in star connection. This report includes the study of characteristics of induction generator and the discussion of experimental data with their graph.
